Let’s dive in to some skincare basics and give you all the pro tools and tips you need to start your glowing skincare journey!
True Beauty starts from the inside out. The old adage rings true for so many things and it works on your skin too! What we put in our body has a direct correlation to the quality of our skin.
Sleep - Consistently getting your RDA of sleep is super important in making sure you look and feel refreshed. Sleep is your body’s time to repair.
Hydrate - Make sure you stay hydrated throughout the day, this will ensure you look plumped and dewy, but not hold on to excess water because you are dehydrated (this makes you look puffy).
Nourish - Making sure you eat a colourful and healthy diet that is low in sugar can go a long way to fixing many common skin conditions such as acne, redness, irritation and go a long way to lifting and firming your skin too!
*Bonus tip - Do you often wake up with puffy eyes in the morning? Try adding and extra pillow and sleep with your head elevated above your heart. Sleeping too low can cause water to pool in your face throughout the night.
You need to know what you're working with! Oftentimes people aren't completely happy with their skin but they don't exactly know why. Take a good look at your skin under good lighting (sunlight is great). Here are some common skin concerns and how to treat them, you may have a combination of them and in different areas on your face too.
Dryness - Hydrate! drink plenty of water and use a good moisturiser, we recommend Collagen8 by Ciencia with and active ingredient that even outlasts hyaluronic acid.
Redness - This could due to over-exfoliation, sun exposure, acne, rosacea, burst vessels or more, its best to speak to a dermatologist to correctly diagnose this one, unfortunately there isn’t a one size fits all.
Acne - This is a common and sometimes tricky problem, general tips include reducing sugar consumption and using mild exfoliants, products containing AHA and BHA (normally fruit derived acids) can help.
Blackheads - A good facialist can help extract the worst offenders but prevention is better than cure right? A good exfoliation routine can help, as well as a good face wash containing tea tree oil also works wonders.

As with everything, good things come to those who wait. Skin is a living organ and it has a turnover rate, as new skin comes to the surface, this can take from one month when you are a teenager and slows to up to three months as you hit middle age. Be patient, consistent and you will reap your results!
